Superintendent's Message
I appreciate you taking the time to read about what's been happening within our Department. Please feel free to give me a call with any questions you may have.
I would to like to mention that you can now pay your water bill via credit card. Please log on to our website and click the "Pay Water Bill" button on the screen. In addition, our new billing system allows for ACH payments. The ACH system is expanding within our customer base.
Water Infrastructure Nationwide is becoming a real focus. Please take a look at the following article by clicking here.
We are currently repalcing the water main on West Parkview Dr. We are waiting on recommendations from our consulting engineer for the Re-painting of the Alvord St. Water tank. The last time the tank was painted was back in 2004 and borrowing will be required for that project. We will be financing the tank project through the Massachusetts Water Resource Authoritys' local water system assistance program(LWSAP), which a 0% interest free loan with a then year payback period.
We perform our annual flushing of fire hydrants in the middle of October each year. If you experience dirty water, please run the cold water in your bathtub until it clears.
We fortunately received a $30,000.00 cybersecurity grant through DEP to address any potential threats to our SCADA system and our network within our office. The work has begun and should be completed by the end of 2026.
The final draft of the shared services report between the two Fire Districts is available below.
Most recently, we outlined our future capital needs in the following presentation below.
Respectfully,
Superintendent Jeffrey Cyr
