2020 District Election Scheduled

Nomination Papers Available

Nomination papers for the Tuesday, March 3, 2020 Fire District 1 election are now available at the District Clerk/Treasurer’s Office, located in the District Firehouse at144 Newton Street. Registered voters residing in District 1 are eligible to run for the following elected offices, provided they return nomination papers with a minimum of ten (10) signatures of District 1 registered voters.

District Moderator                              1 Year

Prudential Committee                         3 Years

Board of Water Commissioners          3 Years

District Clerk/Treasurer                       3 Years

The deadline to return nomination papers to the District Clerk/Treasurer is 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

The election, typically held on the second Tuesday of April, has been moved to March 3 in order to coincide with the Massachusetts Presidential Primary and Annual Town election. Successful candidates will assume their office effective April 14. The election will be held at South Hadley High School with election hours to be determined by the South Hadley Selectboard.
