Fire Chief's Message
On behalf of the men and women of the Fire District No. 1 of South Hadley, welcome to our Department's website and thank you for taking time to visit.
Fire District No. 1 is a full service department that provides fire suppression, advanced life support ambulance service, fire inspection, public fire education programs, emergency preparedness, fire investigative services, and a dive team to our community and our surrounding neighbors.
We are a combination department, with 22 full time Firefighters/EMT's, consisting of EMT Basics and Paramedics, along with 20 call Firefighters/EMT-B. We provide service not only to Fire Districts No. 1, but to our neighboring Fire District No. 2 and surrounding cities and towns. We maintain our Headquarters with one (1) Engine, one (1) Tower Ladder, one (1) Quint, three (3) ALS ambulances, one (1) Rescue Truck, and one (1) Brush Truck.
Fire District 1 also provides water emergency responses with our Boston Whaler and our Zodiac rescue boat.
Fire District No.1 prides itself in being part of the community. We strive to provide a high quality service to our residents, and take a modern day approach to firefighting and emergency medical services that emphasize treating our community customers as an extended family.
